Systems for Effective Working

daisiesThe best systems you can set up in your business are the ones you’re going to use!  This usually means keeping things simple and easy to follow.

Start by taking a look at those tasks you do regularly, whether that’s daily, weekly or monthly. While you can probably do the daily tasks ‘in your sleep’, do you always remember each step? For me, it’s the less frequent tasks that really benefit from creating systems.  Before I did that, it felt as if I was reinventing the wheel on every occasion. It was such a waste of time and energy that could have been better spent elsewhere.

Systems can also save the day when you’re feeling overwhelmed.  Whether through the sheer volume of information we seem to be faced with each day, or when you’re busy with client work, it’s reassuring to know your systems and processes will ensure you don’t forget anything important.

In today’s short audio post  (3 minutes) I’m suggesting a few areas that you might find work better with systems than without.

  • Paper mountains
  • Subscriptions to online and offline magazines
  • Email response
  • Diary management
  • Filing systems
